About the role
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing oil changes and light maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. A lube technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her.
Responsibilities
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnostics vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
- Determines cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Inspects and test drives newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage ad missing major components and driveability functions.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
