About the role

A LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE CERTIFIED SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER is needed at the Elizabeth Shelton School for grades K - 4. Valid Connecticut certification is required with an appropriate special education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in accordance with the curriculum and special education guidelines.
• Implement lesson plans and activities aligned with state standards.
• Provide individualized instruction to meet the needs of special education students.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to support student progress.

Requirements

• Valid Connecticut certification with an appropriate special education endorsement.
• Experience teaching special education students.
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learners.
• Passion for working with children with special needs.

Pay

$323.56 per diem.
