About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is an ideal role for those looking to work with an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality patient care in the ambulatory setting. It's an exciting time to be a nurse at MultiCare. We are on a journey to become a best-in-class nursing organization.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process as a systematic problem-solving approach to nursing care, facilitating an optimal level of functioning and health for the patient
- Performs patient triage in person, via telephone and secure messages, utilizing protocols, guidelines, and standards
- Utilizes assessment and analysis skills in delivering medical regimens as directed by physicians, advanced practice providers and registered nurses
- Delegates selected patient care functions to others in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
- Collaborates with the clinic team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience and stewardship
- Fosters a learning environment for patients, families, and all members of the health care team
- Advocates for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse in Washington State or Multistate license endorsement (MLS)
- Current basic life support certification (BLS)
- Two years of experience as an LPN - in a clinic setting preferred
