About the role
The Wellness Director is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and delivery of residents' care services in the Memory Care Community. This position ensures residents receive high-quality, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with state regulations, company policies, and best practices in dementia care.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all residents' care services
- Ensure individualized service plans are developed, implemented, and updated
- Conduct resident assessments and monitor changes in condition
- Review and monitor medication administration practices and documentation
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and lead the care staff
- Provide ongoing coaching, education, and support through team meetings
- Develop staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and quality care
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training focused on dementia care and best practices
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing assisted living and memory care services
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
- Prepare for and participate in state surveys, inspections, and audits
- Implement policies and procedures that support regulatory compliance and quality assurance
- Monitor incidents, accidents, infections, and falls and implement corrective action plans
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and clinical audits
- Promote resident safety and infection control practices throughout the community
- Work closely with the Executive Director, Culinary Director, and other department leaders to ensure comprehensive resident care
