About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the clinic supports and assists healthcare providers according to clinic policies and procedures, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality care in alignment with Summit Pacific Medical Center’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal patient flow; communicate wait times to patients, providers, and coworkers.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient health records, notify patients of test results as directed, and file documents in the electronic health record daily.
  • Document patient complaints, follow clinic policies for rooming patients, take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and handle telephone calls.
  • Accurately carry out providers’ orders, assist with treatments and procedures, assemble supplies, and ensure consent is obtained when necessary.
  • Administer immunizations under provider supervision, ensure proper documentation, and coordinate with the Department of Health.
  • Perform daily room checks, stock exam rooms, coordinate with Environmental Services, clean exam areas, and check for outdated supplies monthly.
  • Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Washington State-approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
  • One year of work experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Active and unrestricted Washington State LPN licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.

Skills

  • Knowledge of nursing procedures and age-specific patient care principles.
  • Intermediate knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and ability to learn new software.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate work effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
