About the Role

This position involves providing clinical support in a physician's office, focusing on patient care, medication administration, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and evaluates patient needs via telephone triage.
  • Administers medication, including injections, and documents medication given or prescribed by the ordering physician.
  • Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Adheres to Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information in patient medical records.
  • Facilitates patient flow to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.
  • Able to administer intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections.
  • Frequently communicates with clinic staff, providers, patients, call center representatives, receptionists, and other departments to exchange accurate information.
  • Assists with procedures as needed, with potential exposure to live vaccines, blood-borne pathogens, and bio-hazardous materials.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Requires extensive walking, standing, moving, and manipulating equipment.
  • Lifting and moving objects, equipment, and supplies (typically 20-25 pounds daily, occasionally up to 30 pounds).
  • Must be able to push/pull patients in wheelchairs.
  • Frequent movement between the care team station and exam rooms to interact with patients and stock supplies.
  • Constant use of computers and office productivity machinery (e.g., nebulizer, fax machine, copier, printer).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing with an active Florida state LPN license.
  • CPR certification.
  • ACLS & PALS required within the first 90 days of employment.
  • IV certification required within the first 90 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in ER, critical care, urgent care, or a hospital setting.
