Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care to residents in an assigned unit.
- Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices.
- Confidentially supports and participates in quality improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supports and participates in common teamwork, cooperating and working together with all co-workers.
- Completes required in-service training, maintains acceptable attendance, follows uniform and dress codes, and performs other assigned duties.
- Makes rounds and routine checks on residents/patients, observes and reports symptoms and conditions, administers treatments and medications, and notifies physicians of resident conditions.
- Admits, transfers, and discharges residents according to policy, reviews, monitors, intervenes, and reports complaints/grievances.
- Performs emergency procedures such as CPR and reports accidents/incidents promptly.
- Assigns duties to non-professional nursing personnel and supervises and evaluates their work performance.
- Maintains a conducive environment for residents' interest and welfare.
- Investigates and reports employee incidents according to company policy and coordinates return to work programs with Human Resources.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN in this state.
- LPN Supervisor Certification.
- IV Therapy 30-hour Certification.
- Current CPR Card.
- Two years of experience as an L.P.N., preferably in a Long-Term Care or Hospital environment.
- Ability to read, interpret documents, and write routine reports.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use nursing programs, email, and online reporting systems.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of equipment, bending, and stooping.
- Good physical and emotional health, free of communicable diseases.
