  JOB REQUIREMENTS

  The purpose of positions in this classification is to perform licensed practical nursing service care and treatment to Edgewater Haven residents according to physicians orders and established nursing practices, rules and regulations.

  Qualifications

  LPN

  • Prior practical nursing experience preferably in an institutional setting, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good oral and written communication abilities.
  • Computer literate.

  RN

  • One to two years nursing experience preferably in a long-term care facility, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

  Skills

  • Knowledge of nursing principles, methods and standards.
  • Health care, sanitation, hygiene and medical treatment.
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate resident charts.
  • Ability to administer medications orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, intradermally, rectally and intravenously.
  • Ability to prepare and implement resident care plans.
  • Ability to converse with residents to assure they are comfortable, explain therapies, treatments, medications and changes in same.
  • Ability to answer questions and complaints from family members.
  • Ability to reassure and provide emotional support to residents.
  • Ability to accompany physicians during rounds.
  • Ability to attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service and continuing education.
  • Ability to order medications, supplies and materials.
  • Knowledge of Safety policies of the County.
