LPN PRN, Marshall Medical Centers North, Ob/Gyn, Shift varies

General Duties

• Works with RN shares responsibility for team of patients
• Administration of IV fluids
• Administration of medications (certain IV medications after successful completion of certification class)
• Venipuncture for blood collection
• Insertion of IV cannulas
• Physical Assessment and collecting of information
• Fingerstick & Heelstick blood sugars
• Directing staff in patient care
• Insertion of foley catheters
• Dressing wounds and skin care
• Quick Cult
• Provides newborn care
• Provides post-partum, pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse Program
• Current licensure by the Alabama State Board of Nursing
• After orientation demonstrates and maintains skills and knowledge pertinent to the practice and education of a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Successful completion of NRP certification within one year
