About the role

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, performs laboratory testing in any of the various sections of the laboratory, performs control testing and initiates troubleshooting steps for problem areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing in various sections of the laboratory.
• Carries out control testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Initiates troubleshooting steps for problem areas within the laboratory.

Requirements

• Education: A.S. degree in MLT / B.S. degree in Medical Technology, or chemical, physical or biological science or chemical, physical or biological science with clinical training in a school approved by ASCP.
• Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Registered by ASCP preferred.

Qualifications

• Competency of components of laboratory technology, as appropriate.
• Verbal ability to communicate with patients and other clientele instructions and other information.
• Numerical ability to calculate by formula.
• Form perception, visual acuity in the color spectrum to perform specific lab tests.
