About the role
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential patient care in an outpatient setting, working closely with healthcare providers to promote health and wellness.
Responsibilities
- Document all patient care activities accurately.
- Gather patient data, including vital signs, history, and chief complaints, and assess medication refill needs.
- Collect data for compliance with JCAHO requirements, such as pain and domestic violence screening.
- Prepare patients for procedures, tests, and treatments, assisting healthcare providers as needed.
- Evaluate patient needs and risks based on age, health, and medications.
- Assist with supplies, equipment, and facility assessments.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
- Current New York State license and registration to practice as an LPN.
- Infection control and BLS certifications.
- Strong communication skills, efficient task completion, and ability to react appropriately in emergencies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with nursing practices.
