LPN - Physical Medicine and Rehab

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications, gives injections and vaccines, reads PPD results.
• Performs electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests.
• Obtains and tests specimens following standard operating procedures and documents results, taking appropriate action with unexpected results.
• Prepares specimens for transport as necessary.
• Gathers information from patient and directs to RN or Provider when necessary.
• Answers phones and performs triage as needed.
• Assists Provider with surgical procedures including positioning patients, keeping a sterile field, and wound cleaning and dressing.
• Prepares paperwork to complete patient visit.
• Obtains and documents patient’s vital signs as needed and reports abnormal results to provider.
• Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes and checks to make sure all instruments and equipment are in proper working order.
• Aids with prior authorization, precertification for procedures, studies, and medication.
• Maintains medication storage closets.
• Aids with ordering medication and coordinating delivery as needed.
• Participates in orienting new team members.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma (Required)
• Completion of Practical Nursing School (Required)
• Practical Nursing License (Required)
• BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (Required)
• 1 year outpatient experience preferred
