Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse or Physician.
- Fulfills the role of a member of the interdisciplinary health care team.
- Directs daily nursing assignments and acts as the liaison between the medical staff and the nursing staff regarding clinical issues.
- Aids in the orientation, training, and documentation of new clinical staff.
- Works independently to solve staffing problems, keep managers informed of situations beyond their resources, and assist in the implementation of performance improvement and risk management activities.
- Monitors workload, shifts staff as needed, and assists in scheduling at least four to six weeks in advance.
- Assists in the development of proposals for improved efficiency, productivity, or expansion of nursing services.
- Maintains an example in work performance and team building attitudes, concern for patients, and support of clinicians.
- Facilitates meetings/huddles with staff during provider educational time to discuss patient and clinic concerns.
- Affirms compliance with all outside accrediting and regulatory agency codes and standards.
- Maintains patient information privacy and confidentiality.
- Performs point of care testing and quality control in accordance with established laboratory policies and procedures.
- Maintains and documents testing reagents/supplies and equipment according to established laboratory procedures.
- Provides input to the Clinical leadership regarding potential issues surrounding Nursing Policy and Procedure.
- Maintains current licensure, certifications, and competencies.
- Completes required unit credentialing according to departmental policy.
- Participates in 12-18 hours of educational activities annually.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a Practical Nursing program.
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience at Bassett Healthcare in current practice.
- Certified as a Practical Nurse in New York State.
- BLS Certification within 6 months of hire.

Pay
USD $24.74/Hr. to USD $37.10/Hr.
Schedule
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

- Constant fit testing.
