About the Role

Seeking either an LPN or RN for a Center Medical Specialist position in a Plasma Donation Center. This role is ideal for new graduates and offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus (paid in two installments). Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.

Pay

• LPN: $32 - $35 per hour, based on training, education, and experience
• RN: $48 - $50 per hour, based on training, education, and experience
• Eligible to participate in up to 4% of the company bonus pool

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
• Responsible for donor awareness of potential hazards
• Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling for unacceptable test results
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
• Assist in employee training
• Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Requirements

• Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as either a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
• Current CPR certification required

Skills & Physical Demands

• Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
• Requires bending and twisting of the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
• Frequent hand movement with the ability to make fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
• Ability to make precise coordinated movements to grasp and manipulate objects
• Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch, or sit on heels on rare occasions
• Occasionally walks, bends, and twists at the waist
• Light lifting of 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs; may reach below shoulder height
• Hearing acuity essential
• Color perception/discrimination, near vision, and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye
• Able to communicate information and ideas effectively; ability to listen and understand spoken information
• Works independently and within guidance of oral or written instructions
• Performs a wide range of tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions
• Relates sensitive information to diverse groups

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a plasma donation center
• Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms
• Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment
• Exposure to extreme cold below 32°F while performing functions in plasma freezers
• Personal protective equipment required, such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
