LPN or Medical Assistant (Part-Time) - Float Pool
Position Purpose
LPN's and MA's assist in providing excellent patient care by assisting physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in a medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician.

Key Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
- Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
- Aids providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
- Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
- MAY perform venipuncture.
- Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
- Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
- Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
- MAY perform venipuncture.
Qualifications
- LPN Candidates:
- Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
- High school or Equivalent
- Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- MA Candidates:
- High School or Equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Work Requirements
- Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors
- Communicate using telephone
- Able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds
- Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and sitting at desk 10% of the time per day
- Routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances
