LPN or Medical Assistant - 32 Hours Weekly - Behavioral Health Clinic

About the role

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is needed to work in the behavioral health clinic at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainer, Minnesota. The schedule is four 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, with one weekday off. A $2500 sign-on incentive is available.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
• Performs identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
• Assists the team in the Behavioral Health clinic (including RN, clinicians, & other clinic staff) in providing direct patient care in the psychiatric ambulatory care setting.
• Responsible for providing high-quality patient care through direct patient care, working within the medical records, coordinating with interdisciplinary team (with some virtual components), scheduling tasks, and other clinic specific tasks within your practicing scope.

Qualifications

• Education as required for licensure.
• LPN: current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Minnesota upon hire.
• CMA: current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire.
• Must pass certification within two attempts. AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
• Education/certification with de-escalation & crisis intervention training provided & to be completed within 3 months of hire.
