LPN, Medical Assistant, or Clinic Care Tech - 40 Hours Weekly - Endocrinology Clinic

About the role

This LPN, CMA, or CCT works 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory and/or home care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
• Performs identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
• For LPN or CMA:
  • Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks.
  • Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned.
  • Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons.
  • Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and obtains vitals.
  • Chaperones exams as needed.
  • Audits questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record.
  • May perform limited patient care tasks based on training.
• For Clinic Care Technician:
  • Sets up and cleans exam rooms.
  • Stocks and maintains clinic supplies.
  • Assists with clerical duties.
  • Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned.
  • Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons.
  • Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and obtains vitals.
  • Chaperones exams as needed.
  • Audits questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record.
  • May perform limited patient care tasks based on training.

Qualifications

• Education as required for licensure.
• LPN: A North Dakota LPN license is required upon hire. A Minnesota LPN license is required within 3 months of hire.
• CMA: Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts.
• CCT: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Clinical Assistant can NOT administer medication prior to being registered as a MAIII through the ND BON.
• For LPN or CMA: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 3 months of hire.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Basic knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures.
