LPN Medical Assistant (Full Time)

About the role

This position offers monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics. We welcome candidates from a variety of clinical backgrounds. Healthcare professionals such as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics, and PCTs or CNA with healthcare background are encouraged to apply. Your clinical training and patient care experience can translate well into our Medical Assistant role in our urgent care centers.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
  • Schedule appointments and process co-pays
  • Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
  • Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
  • Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
  • Assist providers with patient care and procedures
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
  • Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
  • Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
  • Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Front desk or patient registration experience preferred
  • BLS certification required at time of hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)

Certification / Equivalent Experience

Candidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications:

  • CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
  • CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
  • RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
  • NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
  • NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)

In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:

  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
  • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)
  • EMT – Emergency Medical Technician
  • Paramedic
  • CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant

Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire.

CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.

Pay

Minimum hourly rate starts at $17/hour and is commensurate with experience.
