LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT - Urgent Care

As a part of our Urgent Care team, you will be providing care for patients in a fast-paced department. Responsibilities

  • Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Preparing and administering medications and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN, or following standing orders.
  • Performing and assisting with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as administering ear lavage, EKGs, and bladder scans.
  • Ensuring all components of the standard rooming process are completed, including medication reconciliation, pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, and completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.
  • Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
    • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
    • Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
    • Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross (on-line BLS certification is not acceptable).
  • Medical Assistant (MA):
    • Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
    • Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross (on-line BLS certification is not acceptable).
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT):
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross (on-line BLS certification is not acceptable).
    • Must meet one of the following:
      • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years of pharmacy technician experience.
      • Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current Minnesota EMT License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Schedule

  • Clinic Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm, Saturdays & Sundays 8:00am-5:00pm, Holidays 8:00am-5:00pm.
  • Work Schedule: 6 or 12-hour shifts Monday-Friday, every 3rd weekend, and 1 holiday per year at St. Louis Park Urgent Care.
