LPN – Med/Surg

Euclid Hospital offers a complete continuum of care, including emergency services, sub-acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatient care. As an LPN on the 22-bed 5th Floor Med/Surg unit, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population, including general, urology, and gynecologic procedures. This role allows you to make a lasting difference in patients' lives while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and educational resources within the Cleveland Clinic system.
Schedule
This position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collect, document, and report patient data and observations to the RN or authorized directing healthcare provider.
- Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
- Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform routine laboratory tests.
- Educate patients and family members.
- Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees, sharing knowledge and providing guidance when assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program.
- Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of patient care experience.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
- Involves extensive standing and walking.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay
The pay range for new hires is $23.25 to $33.50 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions).
