About the role
Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
- Captures and documents patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Med Surg / Medical 7W
- Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128
- Schedule: Part-Time | 24 hours/week
- Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Experience: Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered. New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire), LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements).
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
