About the role
The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) in Vinita, OK is a 24-hour/365-day secure inpatient forensic facility providing jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. It houses 268 beds for consumers who have been found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient setting under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician.
- Participate in the evaluation of responses to interventions.
- Take temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, assess, report, and record health status of consumers.
- Develop and implement appropriate aspects of a plan of care.
- Administer medications as ordered.
- Report appropriate consumer information to supervisor or appropriate health team member.
- Serve as a charge nurse on the unit.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing plus two years of practical nursing experience; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus two years of practical nursing experience for Level III.
- One year of practical nursing experience for Level II.
- A valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or, Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) for Level I.
Qualifications
- Pass an OSBI background check.
- Valid driver’s license.

Pay
- LPN III: $28.84/hr
- LPN II: $26.44/hr
- LPN I: $24.27/hr
Schedule
Primary working hours are 6:30am-7:00pm and 6:30pm-7:00am, with occasional weekends and overtime required.
