Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse II (LPN II) to join our Medical-Surgical Unit on full-time day shifts. This position is ideal for an experienced LPN who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
About the Role
The LPN II provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or provider. This role requires advanced clinical skills, strong critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple patient needs in a medical-surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies (within scope of practice)
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and report changes promptly
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining dignity and respect
Requirements
- Current Florida LPN license (active and in good standing)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- IV certification (preferred or required based on facility policy)
- Previous medical-surgical or hospital experience preferred
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
