About the Role
Join our dedicated staff of more than 500 at the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID), the nation's largest not-for-profit agency serving infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse I (LPN I) position supports adults with developmental and related disabilities in a residential program setting in Aberdeen, NJ. The qualified candidate will provide nursing care to group home residents while ensuring their general well-being.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical care for individuals served and provide training to LPNs, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and the Management team.
- Administer medication and medical treatments as required, completing all necessary documentation.
- Accompany individuals to and from medical appointments and activities as needed.
- Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
- Perform data entry using Therap (EHR).
- Implement medically prescribed diets and exercise programs.
- Complete documentation necessary for program operations promptly.
Requirements
- Valid NJ State Practical Nurse License.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing, insurable under NJID’s automobile insurance.
- Experience with g-tube feedings.
- Experience working with intellectual, developmental, and related disabilities preferred.
Schedule
- Hours Per Work Week: 40
- Weekly Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible to meet the needs of the program. Other shifts are available at this location.
Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities are available in Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Somerset Counties.
