About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse Graduate - Inpatient (GPN) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and collaborates with their RN and/or LPN preceptor in the delivery of patient care. Assignments are completed with increasing competence and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Care for a group of patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborate with RN and/or LPN preceptor in delivering patient care.
• Provide personal care, assistance, and supervision to a child (SIPP ONLY).
• Direct contact with the child and have primary responsibility for their care.
• Complete assignments with increasing competence and responsibility.
• Successfully complete the 30 hour Florida Board of Nursing IV course during the first two weeks of the LPN internship.

Requirements

• LPN License
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• High School or Equivalent education

Qualifications

• Less than 6 months acute care experience as a Patient Care Tech or less than 6 months acute care as an LPN

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
