About the Role
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with Piedmont Healthcare's Mission and Vision Statements. Functions within the framework of their license and the policy and procedures of the organization, demonstrating professional growth and accountability. The Licensed Practical Nurse guides ancillary staff, collaborates with other healthcare professionals, and blends compassion, caring, and technologically appropriate competency to deliver holistic care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider to patients across the lifespan.
- Utilize the nursing process in alignment with Piedmont Healthcare’s Mission and Vision Statements.
- Function within the scope of an LPN license and organizational policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
- Guide ancillary staff and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality nursing care.
- Deliver compassionate, holistic care by integrating clinical competency and technological proficiency.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program (required).
- New graduates of an accredited nursing school are eligible.
- Nursing experience in a hospital setting (preferred).
Qualifications
- Active LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure (required).
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification (required).
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area (preferred).
- ACLS certification required if working in the Emergency Department.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required if working in the Emergency Department within 180 days of hire.
- LPNs new to the specialty must complete applicable certifications within 180 days.
