LPN | CMA - Summit Medical Group at Wartburg

About the role

Summit Medical Group at Wartburg has an immediate opening for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). This is a full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.
• Record vital signs of patients, including pulse, blood pressure, height, etc.
• Perform appropriate procedures, such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc.
• Assist the physician(s) with procedures, as well as administering medications and conducting patient education.
• Handle phone nursing as appropriate, including triaging, pre-certs, referrals, calling in prescriptions, etc.
• Perform clerical duties necessary for physicians to see patients; contact patients regarding test results or for other related reasons as directed.
• Schedule patient appointments with efficient use of clinical time slots when needed.
• Maintain stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited program in practical nursing or medical assisting.
• Current TN license in Practical Nursing or Nationally Certified in Medical Assisting certification required.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year of experience in a medical office setting.
