Schedule

Full-Time, Days (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
• Assess clinical needs of patients and update patient records as needed.
• Demonstrate responsible decision-making in planning, providing, and delegating care based on assessment.
• Communicate effectively with peers, staff, physicians, and administration.
• Follow through on problems that may compromise patient care by using the appropriate chain of command.
• Act as primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
• Maintain exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness.
• Prepare lists of medical supplies needed.
• Administer prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Educate patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
• Efficiently utilize the clinic’s patient data management system (electronic or manual) to maintain accurate patient records.
• Screen patients for appropriate information to enter into the record, ensuring the chart is accurate and complete prior to the date of appointment.
• Update patient record information changes using department charting guidelines.
• Complete paperwork accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Safely administer medications using the 5 rights: prepare, give, and document medications and IV solutions.
• Maintain current medication profiles and document medication instruction to patient/caregiver.
• Demonstrate population-appropriate care and skill sets for all patient populations.
• Perform prescribed/ordered treatments timely and without errors.
• Comply with professional standards of practice and expected standards of care, including adherence to the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.
• Communicate pertinent data concerning the client’s status and changes in the plan of care with members of the health team to ensure continuity of care.
• Under minimum direction, assess, document, and disposition all designated incoming ICD and Emergency telephone calls.
• Accurately collect improvement performance data as directed.
• Actively participate in the development and implementation of process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers (within 30 days of hire).
• Clinic Competency Assessment annually by transcript due date.
• Current Practical Nurse license or current Practical Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Arkansas as an LPN.
• Minimum: 6 months of experience.
• Preferred: 1 year of clinic experience.
