About the role
The Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Franciscan Medical Group, part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, supports an energetic and dynamic Women's Health Department in Tacoma, WA. The role involves managing patient care, collaborating with the clinical team, and ensuring efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for practitioner visits; rooms patients, obtains and records vital signs and other appropriate information, ensures patient privacy and comfort.
- Performs or assists with patient care, diagnostic tests, and clinical procedures within scope of training and established procedures.
- Assists with point of care testing (CLIA-Waived Tests only) and lab tests following established protocols.
- Administers patient medications per written provider order; tracks and logs medication usage; maintains inventory of controlled substances.
- Documents procedures and interactions in patient’s medical record in accordance with established procedures; enters, pends, and signs orders as appropriate.
- Organizes exam rooms, cleans and stocks supplies; prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains related equipment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Licensed Practical Nurse: WA.
- Basic Life Support - CPR.
Preferred
- One to three years of LPN work experience in a clinic setting.
- One to three years of acute care LPN work experience.

Pay and Schedule
The posted compensation range is $28.55 - $48.43 /hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
