Typical Hours
The hours of operation for the Lung Care clinic are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner or other non-physician provider.
- Absolutely assists providers to maximize patient volume.
- Administers medications.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Returns patient calls in a timely manner.
- Ensures effective patient communication and efficient patient flow.
- Documents patient care accurately and timely.
- Processes patient referrals timely and follows up to ensure the specialist report or test result is received.
- Fulfills regulatory and patient safety clinical standards.
- Works and communicates effectively with all providers.
- Promotes teamwork.
- Provides great customer service in person and on the telephone.
- Performs administrative duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; pre-certification of tests, procedures and medications; processing insurance forms; preparing financial records; answering phones; and entering ambulatory care charges.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing, or accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current license to practice in the state of Missouri.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a physician’s office setting, preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
- Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
