Responsibilities
- Treat and prevent minor injuries and illnesses.
- Provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of students.
- Render first aid treatment and assist physicians in treating serious accidents or illness.
- Treat minor injuries and illness according to doctor's instructions and maintain student health records.
- Prepare and administer specified medications and assist in developing programs to prevent or control diseases and accidents.
- Auxiliary in the management and coordination of pregnancy, weight control, and smoking cessation programs.
- Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class. Triage, assess complaints, take vital signs, do appropriate charting, and assist with chart review.
- Prepare and submit required reports within required timeframes as needed and directed by the Health & Wellness Director.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted LPN license in the state of employment.
- 1-year practical nursing experience required.
- A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
