About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident and family experience through the provision of the nursing care and leadership required to ensure the health and well-being of residents who depend on Grand Living for assistance. In addition to providing direct care and administering medications to residents who have orders from an attending physician to be admitted for Assisted Living care per state regulations, a Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for ensuring the evaluation and clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides by participation in orientation, education, teaching and supervision of staff through frequent rounding. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner in all interactions, resulting in a very high level of Resident and team member satisfaction. The Licensed Practical Nurse position is under the general guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, and philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and administer medications to residents as ordered by an attending physician.
• Ensure the evaluation and clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides.
• Participate in orientation, education, teaching, and supervision of staff through frequent rounding.
• Maintain The Sterling Touch® standards: friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional in all interactions.
• Uphold resident rights and ensure an atmosphere that allows for privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe, secure environment.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing, required.
• Three or more years’ nursing experience, preferred.
• Assisted living or home health care experience, preferred.
• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment, required.
• Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to educate, train, and supervise staff; meet with residents and families; develop care plans; and communicate effectively.
• Knowledgeable of resident rights and committed to maintaining privacy, dignity, and well-being.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift or carry up to thirty (30) pounds.
