Qualifications / Training
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or equivalent training preferred.
- Completion of student teaching through a university degree or teacher certification program.
- Training in effective instructional methods.
Experience / Knowledge
- At least one year of teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of elementary curriculum and effective instructional practices.
- Understands child development and how to support both academic and social-emotional growth.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Experience using formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and measure progress.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver engaging lessons, assignments, and assessments aligned to the 1st grade curriculum.
- Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations, clear routines, and mutual respect.
- Support students' emotional, social, and academic development.
- Plan and implement coherent sequences of lessons that build knowledge, deepen understanding, and develop skills progressively.
- Differentiate instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and provide meaningful feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and communicate progress effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and ensure alignment across subject areas.
- Foster student engagement through discussion, inquiry, reflection, and problem-solving activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents, building strong partnerships to support student success.
- Contribute to a positive school culture by working collaboratively and professionally with staff and students.
