Qualifications / Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent training preferred.
  • Completion of student teaching through a university degree or teacher certification program.
  • Training in effective instructional methods.

Experience / Knowledge

  • At least one year of teaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of elementary curriculum and effective instructional practices.
  • Understands child development and how to support both academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Experience using formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and measure progress.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deliver engaging lessons, assignments, and assessments aligned to the 1st grade curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations, clear routines, and mutual respect.
  • Support students' emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Plan and implement coherent sequences of lessons that build knowledge, deepen understanding, and develop skills progressively.
  • Differentiate instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and communicate progress effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and ensure alignment across subject areas.
  • Foster student engagement through discussion, inquiry, reflection, and problem-solving activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, building strong partnerships to support student success.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture by working collaboratively and professionally with staff and students.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and apply best practices to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
