Job Summary

The Interventionist will play a crucial role in supporting students in lower school who are facing challenges in foundational academic skills, with a particular emphasis on literacy. This position involves providing targeted interventions, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with faculty to ensure students receive the necessary support to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer assessments to evaluate students’ literacy skills and overall academic performance
  • Analyze assessment data to inform instructional practices and interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment outcomes
  • Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure growth
  • Conduct initial screenings to identify students in need of intervention support
  • Communicate progress updates to parents and teachers effectively
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to identify at-risk students and share strategies for supporting their learning
  • Collaborate with special education staff, reading specialists, and other relevant personnel to coordinate support services
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide literacy initiatives
  • Provide direct instruction and small group intervention focused on literacy development
  • Create engaging and effective instructional materials tailored to the needs of earners
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Experience working with young learners, particularly in literacy development
  • Strong understanding of assessment tools and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for helping students succeed and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
