Lowboy Driver - Hampton Roads

About the role

The Lowboy Driver - Hampton Roads is responsible for driving trucks to transport construction material and heavy construction equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe work environment, loading materials, performing pre and post trip inspections, maintaining logs, and communicating with management and foremen.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Load heavy construction equipment/material to and from jobs.
• Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements and adhere to same.
• Pre and post trip inspections.
• Maintain daily log.
• Understanding verbal & written directions, GPS.
• Able to communicate with management & foreman on job sites.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid CDL, Class A license.
• N and/or H endorsements a plus.
• Positive driving record.
• Must be able to pass a background check and access military bases.
• Ability to do basic math.

Physical Demands

• Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
• Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime work is required.
• Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
