About the role
We are seeking a seasoned field professional with 5+ years of structured cabling experience to plan, direct, and coordinate project activities in the Orange County area. The ideal candidate will ensure project goals are met within prescribed time and budget parameters.
Responsibilities
- Review, understand, process, and execute project proposals, personnel requirements, equipment and cabling specs, material management, tooling, and transportation requirements.
- Provide regular status updates to Field Service Manager and Project Managers.
- Ensure overall project-related customer satisfaction.
- Direct and supervise up to 20+ technicians.
- Install, troubleshoot, and test unshielded and shielded twisted pair cabling.
- Work above false ceilings, on lifts, catwalks, fish cables in walls, install raceways, mud-rings in drywall, cable racking and trays, data racks, and frames.
- Maintain working knowledge of telecommunications voice and data systems, voice and data cabling, and cabling infrastructure.
- Apply knowledge of Local Area Network concepts to test from a data port to the workstation.
- Perform basic fiber optic cable tasks: identify cable types, understand fiber cable color code, follow manufacturers' handling requirements, troubleshoot with a fiber light, and place fiber patch cables.
Requirements
- 5+ years of field experience in structured cabling.
- BICSI Certification is a plus.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Trained and certified in SCS manufacturers’ practices and installation guidelines.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail.
