Job Description

Install, decommission, and support network infrastructure and structured cabling systems within data center environments.

  • Copper, fiber, coax, ISP, and OSP cable installation, routing, termination, testing, and labeling in accordance with project requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, port maps, matrices, technical drawings, and redline documentation to execute installations accurately.
  • Install and maintain cable support systems, including ladder rack, fiber trough, seismic bracing, threaded rod, and Unistrut assemblies.
  • Patch, configure, and support network equipment while ensuring proper identification through labeling, barcoding, and asset tracking processes.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and technical teams to communicate progress, resolve issues, and meet delivery schedules.

Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational standards while maintaining clean, organized, and efficient data center work environments.

Requirements

  • Experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems in a data center or structured cabling environment.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage cabling practices, telecom hand tools, wiring standards, continuity testing, and field termination techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, technical drawings, port maps, cable matrices, and construction documentation.
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure, network equipment installation, cable management, bonding/grounding, and firestopping practices.
  • Familiarity with fiber types (single-mode, multi-mode, and ribbon fiber) and the installation of ISP/OSP cabling systems and enclosures.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, customer service, and effective communication within a team-oriented environment.
