Low Voltage Apprentice

About the role

We're hiring motivated individuals to support a large-scale data center construction project in Temple, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in construction, low voltage, cable installation, telecommunications, or anyone looking to start a long-term career in the data center industry.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable
• Install cable tray, wireway, and support systems
• Assist with telecommunications room build-outs
• Mount racks, patch panels, and network equipment
• Assist with cable terminations and punch-downs
• Install grounding and bonding systems
• Move and organize materials throughout the job site
• Use hand and power tools safely
• Work from ladders and elevated areas
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

• Must be local to Temple, TX or able to commute daily
• Willing and able to travel to Cedar Rapids, IA or Columbus, OH for 5-6 weeks of training
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain prior to starting

Preferred Experience

• Cable pulling experience
• Construction, telecommunications, or low-voltage experience
• Cat5e/Cat6 installation experience
• Punch-down or termination experience
• Trade school or vocational training related to telecommunications or electrical systems

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, current hours: 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM, with potential for 10-hour shifts as project needs increase and overtime opportunities may be available.
