Responsibilities

  • Gather data for a local municipality’s evaluation and planning of a public right-of-way infrastructure project.
  • Operate a multi-sensor profiling tool (pushcart with lasers, high-resolution cameras, and GPS) to measure local sidewalks and pedestrian curbs. See the equipment here.

Requirements

  • No prior experience needed.
  • Enjoys walking long distances.
  • Can commit to at least 25 hours per week on a consistent basis (unlikely to work fewer than 20 hours per week for the project duration).
  • Able to quickly learn and operate the PathVu equipment and software.
  • Will follow all project instructions and deadlines.
  • Thrives in an outdoor environment.
  • Self-motivated and can work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Located near Herndon, VA, and able to commute to/from the area.
