About the role

Volunteers sell books in our bookstore to support and enhance the value of the Boca Raton Public Library. The bookstore raises funds that supplement library programs and services, with about 80% of revenue coming from bookstore sales and over $70,000 each year funding special library projects and programming.

Responsibilities

• Sort, select and price donated books for sale
• Maintain and categorize book genre sections (e.g., children’s, travel, cook book sections)
• Upload boxes, check for damage, sort books by subject and value
• Make pricing decisions based on set criteria
• Stock bookshelves with books

Requirements

Must be a year‑round resident of Boca Raton or a nearby community.

Schedule

Volunteer shifts are 3 hours long, once or twice a week.
