About the role
The library utilizes volunteers in various roles to support its mission of connecting the community to ideas, information, and inspiration. Volunteers can help keep materials organized, assist patrons with technology, mentor youth, and participate in summer programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading Mentor: Meet weekly with a student, lead literacy sessions, and set goals for the week.
- Technology Assistant: Assist with printing, copying, scanning, and guiding patrons through online tasks.
- Materials Assistant: Maintain collection order, stamp, sort, count, and clean materials.
- Summer VolunTEEN: Promote summer reading programs, assist with app downloads, and help with program preparations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
- Successfully pass a criminal background check
- Pre-employment requirements may include a background check
