Loss Prevention Specialist Intern 2027
About the role
Operations roles at Amazon put you at the center of how things move from a click to a doorstep. You'll help design, improve, and run systems that connect people, products, and places, at scale. You'll take ownership early, work closely with teams to solve real-world challenges, and see the direct results of your decisions as they reach customers every day. This role is a 10-week internship starting in the Summer of 2027.
As a Loss Prevention Intern, you will lead the effort to efficiently and effectively provide security services and asset protection (including people, buildings, equipment, data, and intellectual property) in a designated fulfillment center (FC). You will report to the Loss Prevention Manager and assist in a project benefiting the team, while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Audit, Security Services, and Inventory Control Quality Assurance.
The position is located in a Fulfillment Center, Sort Center, Delivery Station, or other warehouse environment. You must be willing to relocate nationwide for the summer with relocation assistance provided.

- Inspire performance excellence among security services team members.
- Align performance and actions with the vision and values of the organization.

- Serve as the department’s liaison for facility management, keeping them informed of key issues and performance.
- Drive process improvements and increase efficiency.

- Partner with internal customers to evaluate current and future security services and initiatives.
- Coordinate data collection and conduct analysis to generate strategic and tactical interpretations.
Requirements

- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
- Frequent walking in/around the warehouse (facilities may exceed a quarter mile in length).
- Able to access all areas of the building (ascending/descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely).
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
- A driver’s license is strongly recommended due to the remote nature of many internship locations.

- Experience with physical security systems, investigation techniques, oversight of contract security officers, or distribution center loss mitigation techniques.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and motivate self and others to meet deadlines.
