Loss Prevention Officer Day Shift
National Beef Leathers of St. Joseph, Missouri is seeking Loss Prevention Officers for a full-time schedule compressed into 3½ days per week on a rotating four‑week cycle. The starting wage is $18.50 per hour with a $0.50 increase after 90 days. The role is on‑site and safety‑sensitive.
Schedule
Schedules rotate every four weeks:
- Week 1–2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – full shift; Thursday – half shift
- Week 3–4: Friday, Saturday, Sunday – full shift; Thursday – half shift
Must be available to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
Starting wage: $18.50 per hour. Increase of $0.50 per hour after 90 days.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, control, and document vehicular traffic
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and customers by controlling access and monitoring plant premises, assets, and personnel
- Secure premises by patrolling property
- Inspect vehicles
- Inspect bags, lunch boxes
- Monitor controlled access points
- Complete required reports in a timely manner
- Record observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities
- Prevent loss/damage to company property by providing a uniformed presence
- Investigate incidents of irregularity
- Contribute to a team effort
- Protect product, equipment, and tools from leaving property
- Prevent weapons, alcohol, and drugs from entering property
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Surveillance skills (CCTV)
- Strong, ethical character
- Dependable
- Ability to be objective
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism
- Good people/conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Exemplary performance and attendance record at previous employment
- Bilingual is a plus
- Light lifting ability
- Objectivity, dependability, integrity, safe work practices, professional demeanor, and reporting skills are a plus
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
- Successful completion of a background check required
