Los Angeles USD In-Person Tutor 26/27

HeyTutor has partnered with a school district in Los Angeles to hire English & Math tutors who can assist Elementary, Middle, and High School students during after-school hours. You will work with students of all ages between K-6th grade, helping them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year. A clear in-person background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with groups of students without the support of a teacher or school site staff
• Prepare the tutoring area to start sessions
• Pick up and drop off students from designated areas in the school site, if required
• Take attendance and run lessons through the HeyTutor Dashboard
• Document student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by a manager
• Lead tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging
• Support students in making positive behavior choices
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside students
• Clock in and out of Deputy for shifts daily
• Perform any other duties required by the company, manager, or school site

Requirements

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college
• Tutoring experience, particularly with kids
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary School Math & ELA
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through HeyTutor)

• 7.5 hours per week

Pay depends on a combination of education and experience and will be determined at the interview.
