Longpath Technologies Lead Software Engineer
LongPath Technologies uses lasers to combat climate change by mitigating greenhouse gas emissions from the natural gas supply chain. Our patented technology and innovative deployment design provides low-cost continuous monitoring of emissions, providing the industry with state-of-the-art quantification for emissions measurement and rapid repair of fugitives.

About the role
We are a small and fast-growing company, so the position offers a large amount of both freedom and responsibility. A successful candidate will provide individual technical excellence while mentoring junior team members. Being able to succinctly define problems and identify efficient solutions will be critical.
Responsibilities
- Develop software for embedded/edge devices: hardware control, data processing/handling, and frontend interfaces
- Testing, including APIs, hardware/software integrations, and advanced algorithm results
- Streamline data flow and software delivery for scalability and efficient monitoring of system performance
- Mentor junior team members
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and implement new technologies
Requirements
- Python mastery (object-oriented design, multithreading, memory management)
- Database experience, especially NoSQL
- AWS platform experience
- Linux proficiency
- Experience operating embedded edge devices
- Version control, continuous integration, and delivery tools proficiency
- 5+ years full-time development experience
- BS or higher in a technical discipline
- Ability to work both independently and in teams
- Experience in an agile startup development environment
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in US (no sponsorship)
Skills
- TypeScript and JavaScript experience, especially with React framework
- IoT development experience
- Hardware in Loop (HIL) testing methodology
- C++ for embedded devices
- Experience with atmospheric modeling/algorithm development
Working Conditions
Hybrid work position primarily based in Boulder, CO.
Pay
Salary range $120-160k. Equity grant.
