Long-Term Substitute Teacher – Grade 3

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons across core subjects (Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies) aligned with Connecticut standards.
• Maintain an organized, safe, positive, and structured classroom culture rooted in mutual respect and clear routines.
• Monitor student progress, grade assignments, and utilize formative assessments to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Partner closely with the Grade 3 team and specialized support staff.
• Maintain professional, proactive communication with families regarding student progress.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.
• Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification (or documented eligibility) in one of the following endorsements is highly preferred:
• Endorsement 305: Elementary Education (Grades 1–6)
• Endorsement 113: Elementary Education (Grades N–3)

Approximately August 24, 2026 – November 14, 2026

RATE OF PAY

Beginning on day 41, a certified substitute teachers' rate of pay will be based on the first step of the teachers' contract.
