About the role

Albemarle County Public Schools seeks a long-term substitute teacher for 4th grade at Ivy Elementary for the 2026-27 school year. We work together as a team to end the predictive value of race, class, gender, and special capacities for our children’s success through high-quality teaching and learning for all. We build relationships with families and communities to ensure every student succeeds. Responsibilities

• Engage students in authentic, challenging, and relevant learning experiences
• Implement Culturally Responsive Teaching in support of the division’s Equity Mission Statement
• Collaborate with building administrators, instructional coaches, and other specialists
• Support the division’s goal of closing equity and achievement gaps

Requirements

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement in Elementary Education
