About the role
This is a long-term substitute position for a science teacher in an elementary school. The position is for the period from September 14, 2026 to December 11, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach science classes to students in grades 5-8
- Implement curriculum aligned with NJ DOE standards
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff
Requirements
- NJ DOE Elementary School with Subject Matter Specialization Certification in Science (Grades 5-8)
- NJ DOE K-12 Science Certification preferred
Qualifications
- Strong background in science education
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
Skills
- Knowledge of NJ DOE science standards
- Experience teaching science to students in grades 5-8
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
