Long Term Substitute – Middle School Paraprofessional

The substitute paraprofessional will provide program support to students in either general education or special education classrooms.

About the role

• Supports students in academic, social, and behavioral areas
• May assist with lesson planning and implementation
• Works closely with teachers and other staff members

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily classroom activities
• Provide one-on-one assistance as needed
• Help manage student behavior and classroom environment
• Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two year or four-year degree preferred
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job-related field
• Crisis prevention intervention (CPI) training preferred

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of educational best practices

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in using technology tools relevant to the classroom
