We seek a full time Health Teacher - Long Term Substitute for the 2026-2027 academic year with the background and experience to teach a comprehensive health curriculum.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years teaching experience
• Masters' degree preferred

Skills and Characteristics

• Knowledge of Health Education standards
• Understanding of adolescent development 6th-12th grade
• Ability to facilitate challenging, values-based and age appropriate discussions on various health topics such as reproductive health and sexuality, substance abuse, etc.
• Knowledge of social and emotional learning programs
• A growth mindset with a passion for your subject matter and an engaging learning environment
• Compassion, patience, sense of humor, contextual emotional intelligence
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Agility, influence, negotiation, and strong judgment & decision-making skills
• Ability to build relationships with multiple constituent groups - teachers, parents, students, and administrative teams
• Experience with addressing student behavior
• Creative and imaginative problem-solver

Pay and Benefits

• Annual salary range of $73,500 - $90,500, depending on experience
• Excellent benefit package following 90 days of employment
