We seek a full time Health Teacher - Long Term Substitute for the 2026-2027 academic year with the background and experience to teach a comprehensive health curriculum. Candidates should have 3-5 years teaching experience. A Masters' degree is preferred. These Are Characteristics Of a Successful Health Teacher Knowledge of Health Education standards; Understanding of adolescent development 6th-12th grade; Ability to facilitate challenging, values-based and age appropriate discussions on various health topics such as reproductive health and sexuality, substance abuse, etc.; Knowledge of social and emotional learning programs; A growth mindset with a passion for your subject matter and an engaging learning environment; Compassion, patience, sense of humor, contextual emotional intelligence; Strong organizational and communication abilities; Agility, influence, negotiation, and strong judgment & decision-making skills;Ability to build relationships with multiple constituent groups - teachers, parents, students, and administrative teams; Experience with addressing student behavior; and Creative and imaginative problem-solver.
